Between the Days – A Time Leap into the Unkown

When time bends and Monday is suddenly +7

Monday. I sat and squinted into the light of the new morning, still languid from the remnants of a weekend that had been frenzied, demanding, but also full of small revelations. I constantly believed, was convinced with every fiber of my being, that it was Monday but a week later – as if time had struck a hook to play a trick on me.

A leap in time, that’s how it felt: just caught between deadline pressure, clever conversations, borderline experiences and moments of pause – and suddenly it was Monday, not just any one, but Monday +7. I had been faster than time, had overtaken it, cut a curve on the highway of life.

I think back to the weekend with a smile. It wasn’t just hectic or crowded, but soaked in intense encounters, moments that have been burned into my memory – insights that flash like little lights in the fog. Much was stressful, some was nerve-wracking, but clarity grew out of the effort. Thoughts that were confused at first were ordered, new connections became visible. In the midst of all this, I had gotten to know myself anew to a certain extent, had grown from the resistance.

And so I sit there now, with this strange feeling that something is missing – a week that I lost somewhere along the way. But maybe that’s exactly what it is: Sometimes life gives you a leap in time. You notice that not only has the world moved on, but so has you, and faster than you thought.

Monday will come, whether you are ready or not. And perhaps the best thing you can do is greet him – with a smile about the fact that you have escaped time for a short moment.

Perhaps it is precisely this small crack in the fabric of time that reminds us that life does not always go according to plan – and that is precisely where its magic lies. From seemingly lost time sometimes grows an unimagined richness: new perspectives, quiet gratitude and the courage to take the next steps with an open heart. Between the days, in the state of limbo between yesterday and tomorrow, there is the chance to get a little closer to yourself – and to travel on with a smile, no matter where the next leap in time takes us.

Perhaps this feeling of having lost a week is not a loss at all, but a gift. A space in which new things can unfold – invisibly, but effectively. Time has not conspired against me, it has merely shown me how elastic it can be if one does not attach oneself too much to it. It is these unexpected accelerations and slowdowns that throw life out of sync and make it richer at the same time.

Sometimes a single moment is enough to change the course of the days. Lines blur, boundaries become permeable and the rigid grid of everyday life begins to dance. Perhaps the real leap in time is not only the overtaking of the calendar week, but the sudden awareness that every encounter, every realization, every overcome resistance ignites a spark of new time in us. And as the world moves on, something remains in us that doesn’t go away: a sense of growth, of change, of quiet anticipation of all that is still hidden between the days.

So, the next time you feel like you’ve skipped a week, don’t panic! Maybe you just experienced a turbo growth spurt. And who knows, maybe the secret of life is really to skip a week every now and then. After all, who needs all seven days when you can grow in one day? 😄

I hope this makes you smile
